Like so many other fellow sufferers, are you prone to panic attacks? If you are, help is at hand. Don't let yourself remain a victim of debilitating panic attacks any more. When you have a panic attack, don't fight it, that can actually make it worse. Try to remember that the attack will be over shortly, and attempt to calm your breathing. Your attacks can last longer and symptoms can be worse if you struggle with them.

Here is a technique for avoiding panic attacks if you are especially susceptible to them. Set a kitchen timer for a half hour. Try taking a breathing break every half hour. This will be key in oxygenating your system and getting your focus reset. By doing this often, it will become a habit.

You should always get 6 hours sleep at the minimum, so that panic attacks will be kept at bay. Eight hours of sleep or so are necessary for you to wake up feeling fresh. Use the surge in adrenaline from a panic attack to clean your house or rid your home of clutter. Not only will you be able to enjoy a clutter free living area that will enhance your feelings of relaxation, you will also have an outlet for your nervous energy.

If you call locally, you may find a "sliding scale" rate for certain therapists. This will allow you to receive treatment and you'll be charged based on how much money you make, and not a flat rate, making it more affordable.

See if your friend can come and talk to you face to face. Having some company will help you feel safer.
